How to Pick a Credit Card for Your Business

On September 3, 2010, in business solutions, by Planet Antares

Planet Antares CardGetting a credit card account can sometimes be much easier for a new business then securing a line of credit from a bank. This is also a good way for a small business to establish credit in their name.

There are so many choices out there that you must consider a few things first.
• Your spending habits
• What is the annual percentage rate
• Will you be paying off charges each month or paying them off over time
• Is it a fixed rate or will it go up after the first year

Charge cards can be helpful to a company that needs credit for a short period of time. It forces them to exhibit financial discipline . If they do not pay the balance within 30 days then penalties may occur. However , credit cards provide complete flexibility to the small business owner. This flexibility can get expensive though if you do not pay the balance in full and have to pay interest rates.

Digg Vending Machine Analogy

On August 31, 2010, in vending information, by Planet Antares

Digg LogoThe social news website Digg.com just recently released it’s latest version to the masses Digg V4. Unfortunately for Digg, this new release has been greeted with huge backlash and another large revolt on the website as Digg has decided to remove key features loyal Digg users liked as well as changed the layout and use quite a bit.

The latest version of Digg seemed rushed as there are several bugs the current version has according to founder Kevin Rose.

To sum up the life of Digg and it’s change, TechCrunch made this great cartoon comparing Digg.com to a vending machine. Check out the cartoon below. Click to enlarge the image.

Employee Retention – How to Retain Employees

On August 27, 2010, in business solutions, by Planet Antares

happy planet antares employeesEmployees can be a pain in the neck to keep happy. How can you keep employees motivated and wanting to work when he, or she is starting to realize they should be making more money? Worse yet how can you keep Bob over there happy when he has so many problems outside of work? Keeping the staff happy is tricky, but keeping them motivated that can sometimes seem near impossible.

Planet Antares Solutions offer Some Tips on How to Keep Your Employees Happy.

Distractions can help keep the masses at bay. When the sales team comes in and they are bummed in the morning, some cash spiffs can get them back on track. Contests can also work with those customer service reps. Everyone knows they like customer satisfaction rewards. When a staff member is just not having a good day sometimes a five minute break to let him vent can solve the problem.

Planet Antares Solutions recommends leading by example is the best way to make an impact with the team. When all else does not seem to be working then getting in the trenches and working with these guys can really help out. The team respects a manager who doesn’t mind to pitch in. It is better than what the last manager did, which was just yelling when things weren’t going well.

The unfortunate thing about being in charge of a team is sometimes an example must be made. That guy who was hired three weeks ago works hard, but he is a real downer to everyone around him. Negativity can spread like cancer through the team. Let him go and make sure people know why he was not going to be able to be a valued member of this team.

More than anything the staff just appreciates it when things are happy and going smoothly. That starts from the top and works its way down. Don’t bring in personal drama and have a smile on your face, give a compliment to a member when they are working extra hard. Planet Antares Solutions seems to think that it is good just to pay a small compliment to the staff. And if none of that seems to be coming out quite right then put on a smile it is infectious.

bp oil spillsThe Federal Trade Commission and other consumer advocates are warning of scammers who are attempting to take advantage of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  The agencies are reporting an uptick in the number of complaints received from consumers.

Certain scams are targeting unemployed persons who may be looking for cleanup work related to the spill.  Scam artists are approaching job seekers and asking for an up-front fee to be placed in a spill-related position. In addition, other scam artists are hoping to cash in on the spill by selling “training” to work in a spill remediation.

In today’s world the vending machine has become as much a part of our life as our vehicles, offering us as many or more options. It is cheaper to take lunch in the break room, than to go out. The vending industry is catering to the workforce by bringing food to them via the vending machine.

We live in a fast passed society with little time for a home cooked meals or family time. The fast food industry has become a billion dollar industry, and over the last few years the snack and beverage industry has zeroed in on that trend; producing a number of new products to meet the demands.

Employees are under more pressure than ever to be productive with less time available for breaks and lunches. Companies need vending machines that provide a variety of products in a small space. The demand for vending machines sales has never been higher. Vending machines offer the customer a large variety of items to choose from. The customer can choose from a variety of entrees, snacks and drinks. The food vending machine offers full-size meals like turkey and gravy, chili, tuna salad and pasta dishes. The choices ranges from healthy and not-so-healthy options.

Who uses vending machines?

Today there are vending machines located in almost every business, doctors’ office, school, and college. Many of them are provided by Planet Antares. Every break room has vending machines people of all ages, races, and genders use these machines. Contractors, construction workers, doctors, lawyers, secretaries, parents, teachers and students – just to name a few – are patrons of the vending machine industry. The demand for vending machines increases, as the demand to spend more time away from home increases.

Why use vending machines?

A Planet Antares vending business has many options to offer. It can be run part-time, run from home, and can generate cash while you are doing what you want to do. Automatic merchandising business opportunities will allow the owner to work part-time and keep his/her job. The machines vend the products and create a cash flow without the vending operator’s presence. The positive aspect of this business is that it is an all-cash operation with no collecting involved. The owner can receive tremendous tax-benefits and expand his/her business as large as they would like to. There are companies that can provide training, service, and merchandise. Planet Antares assists people in starting their own home-based vending businesses more than any other company ever will.

Automatic merchandising has been exploding for the last decade. The reason for this rapid growth is the growing demand for fast foods and snacks. This merchandise must be quick and easy to get to. The demand for more production in less time has placed a greater demand on the automatic merchandising industry. These automatic merchandisers are wonderful as long as they are serviced properly.

It is so frustrating to the public to loose money trying to get a quick snack or lunch. If the business is operated by independent operators the equipment is normally in good working order. A company known as Planet Antares Inc (www.planetantarescorp.com) offers a home-business system dedicated to establishing independent operators in the Automatic Merchandising Industry. This system provides qualified entrepreneurs the opportunity to operate a competitive home-based vending businesses.

Why Automatic Merchandising?
The reason that there is such a demand for automatic merchandising that these vending machines only need a small amount of space to be operational. It does not require much space to operate this business, and there are a lot of products in those vending machines.

The work force needs food, snacks, and drinks all the time, and the demand is astronomical. It would cause a tremendous traffic jam if each individual had to leave work for lunch. This would also cause a loss in wages and production. The automatic merchandise industry has found a solution to those nightmares. The solution is to take the products to the workforce, schools, and colleges. Automatic Merchandising is a $40 billion dollar industry. This is what makes the industry ideal for home-based entrepreneurs. The start-up costs are minimal. There is little or no overhead. The products that they provide are already promoted with billions of dollars of international advertising by their manufacturers. This promotional tool costs the vendors nothing.

What are the benefits of Automatic Merchandising

The entire family can help operate the business, even the grandparents; and each family member can learn about becoming an entrepreneur. There are also tax breaks for the business. Under current tax laws, the business can write off up to $134,000 in equipment purchases, qualify for retirement benefits, and take tax deductions for your operating expenses. There are seminars and conventions that relate to your business held in many locations. There is no need for an office or warehouse. Automatic merchandising can be done from the comfort of your home, and you can use the garage for storage.

It doesn’t take a major worldwide economic meltdown to make the case for taking charge of one’s own financial future. Everyone knows the benefits of an entrepreneurial life.

Fire the boss: The 9-to-5 isn’t what it used to be. Lately, companies make ends meet by squeezing more “productivity” out of employees. That means making them work harder, for longer hours, without more pay. Entrepreneurs work hard, too, but they work for themselves and reap all the rewards.

Live a full life: Without being chained to a desk for a traditional workday, home and family can come into clearer focus for a business owner. While becoming an entrepreneur is centered on finances, one of the most attractive benefits is the personal freedom it brings.

On the other hand, most people can also tick off plenty of reasons to avoid taking the entrepreneurial leap: the cost of getting into business is too high, not everyone is a marketing/sales/accounting expert, or the learning curve and competition are too high.

But there are a few reputable companies and industries that offer all the upside while managing the risks of ownership. Consider Planet Antares, which operates in the ever-expanding convenience food segment. This time-tested program has figured out how to really overcome some of the biggest barriers to starting a business.

Financial flexibility: Machines can be partially paid for over time, avoiding the massive capital costs that stand between people and their dreams. And unlike a franchise, there are no ongoing royalties or payments to the parent company to cut into earnings.

Real human contact and support: Planet Antares comes prepared. While being a franchisee means an owner has access to expertise, this program provides a one-on-one mentor relationship, and it packages sales leads, video training, state-of-the-art proven marketing materials and tons of resources for the new owner.

Ability to grow large or stay small: An owner can stake out his territory without fear of another distributor barging in. He can service new referrals from current clients or keep just a handful of locations on a part-time basis. Planet Antares keeps abreast of every move and change in the market and delivers it through their regular newsletter, to keep owners up on every detail of a dynamic industry.

So while the benefits of running the show are the same across the board, check out the resources behind a company before choosing a partner in business.

The automatic merchandising industry, or vending machine service, has become one of the hottest ways for people to work from home and make a good income. Many people, after they retire, decide they want to do something besides sit on the porch and rock in a rocking chair so they invest in vending machines and go into business for themselves. Other younger people decide they want to work from home as a couple and they also do just fine in the business if they have business knowledge and motivation.

While there are many Automatic Merchandising companies, one of the well known ones is Planet Antares. You can find it online at planet antares, www.planetantarescorp.com. There are also trade shows every year and many vending machine companies display their products there. If you are not sure what products you want to sell, you can attend these trade shows for a first hand look at the machines and the products that go into them.

Some of the many products sold in vending machines today are candy, gum, chips, cookies, sandwiches, soups, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sweeteners, creamers, lottery tickets, cigarettes, toys, jewelry, drinks, and more. In other countries products such as postage stamps, post cards. Some cigarette machines require a smart card to purchase cigarettes from the machine. The smart card is available to adults only. Even gemstones are sold in vending machines in Australia. It seem the sky is the limit when it comes to products that can be placed in the vending machines.

I am sure everyone remembers the coin operated telephones. Maybe there are some still around. The vending machines are a very smart way to get the buyers money before they get the product and a salesman or cashier doesn’t have to be there to watch or take your money. Having those candy and toy machines beside the entrance and exit door of an establishment catches the eyes of the children and many times there is a successful sale as a result.

While working from home in the automatic merchandising business, you have a choice of working full or part time. Pick your own hours and make your own route. You can expand your business as big as you want or just keep it as a part time income to fill the gap like a second job might do. The sky is the limit. The business is growing in leaps and bounds because of the many new products being put into the vending machines.

Recently, Congress passed legislation that will eventually require every person to carry health insurance. This mandate, which doesn’t become fully effective until 2014, has opened the door to new health care scams. You can avoid being taken advantage of by following these simple steps.

Resist the high-pressure sales tactic. If you don’t already have health care insurance, you will be required to buy a policy, but those rules don’t go into effect for nearly five years. Unless you feel compelled to buy health insurance now, there’s no reason to make hasty decisions. Beware of low-priced deals and time-limited offers.  These tricks are designed to notch up the pressure on you to buy.

If certain health care programs like Medicare, Medicaid or the Veterans Administration already provide insurance coverage for you, you won’t need to buy additional insurance under the new regulations.

Hang up on telephone solicitors who claim to be from the government or from an agency with an official-sounding name. You will be buying your health care insurance from private companies, not from the government. An important note for Medicare recipients: each year, Medicare authorizes certain insurance companies to sell Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplemental Insurance plans. If the federal government does not certify an insurance company to sell Medicare insurance products, they may not offer Medicare insurance products of any type, or use the Medicare name.

Ask for a written document called a Statement of Benefits from the company making the sales pitch. If they can’t provide one, or their answers aren’t clear about exactly what the insurance will pay for and when, look elsewhere.

All insurance companies are regulated by the state(s) in which they do business. No insurance company is exempt from state regulations. Contact your state’s insurance commission to ask about the company, and whether the agency has fielded any complaints.
